Singlemode-Multimode-Singlemode Optical Fiber Sensor for Accurate Blood Pressure Monitoring

A dual-channel single-mode-multi-mode-single-mode (SMS) fiber optic sensor encapsulated by polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) was proposed for the first time, simultaneous monitoring of brachial and radial arteries accurate blood pressure prediction. With help machine learning algorithm Support Vector Regression (SVR), SMS can continuously accurately monitor systolic diastolic pressure. Commercial sphygmomanometers are used to calibrate accuracy measurement. Compared with single-channel system, this system extract more pulse wave features prediction, such as artery transit time (RPTT), (BPTT), difference between (DBRPTT). The results show that performance is than in terms absolute value correlation coefficient (R) average SBP DBP.
